About Peter

“The more evolved a species is, the more time it seems to spend playing. Which doesn’t explain why I’m sitting in front of a typewriter, unless it does.” – P.J. O’RourkeAuthorPhoto(v2.0)

Let’s keep this simple, shall we?

I am a New Jersey native – born, raised, educated and employed – and reside there still, happily teaching English at a small local college.

I have written a number of role-playing books for both tabletop and live-action play. I’ve also worked as a music journalist, as well as a professional editor and line developer for a game company.

I read a lot, run too many RPGs, am way too addicted to Fantasy Flight board games, make mix CDs constantly, have a terrible weakness for “paranormal” TV shows (no matter how cheesy), LARP whenever I can swing it, and adore the ocean.

Last but not least, whenever I find the time I slip away into the world of a whimsical alchemist with the head of a rabbit or superhuman noir detective, though it’s not as often as I’d like for either of them. Still, I’m working on it.

  5. Loved your short course on Fantasy Literature. Looking forward to the one on Fairy and my daughter (aged 17) will be taking it with me and wants to take it for credit. Just wanted to mention that so you had time to prepare an assignment for her. I used to be on your Facebook page, but can’t locate it. Is it still active?

In Florida, we’ve had some trouble with LARPs, between balancing issues, bad player attitudes, and egotistical GMs. This blog has helped SO much. You’ve helped a whole new era of LARP emerge in the Tampa Bay area. 😀
